Women of Impact: A Tribute to International Women's Day

As we commemorate International Women’s Day, it’s an opportune moment to reflect on the invaluable contributions of women worldwide. At Leatherology, we pride ourselves on having a vibrant, diverse, and female-led team. From creators to analysts, artisans to innovators, and entrepreneurs, each member brings unique perspectives and talents to the table. Today, we celebrate not only the achievements of women globally but also the remarkable individuals within our own team who inspire us daily.

Amidst the celebration of women in our world today, it’s crucial to recognize the pivotal role that women’s relationships play in shaping our collective journeys. Across generations, women forge powerful bonds. Whether through familial ties, mentorship relationships, or shared experiences, the importance of learning from other women cannot be overstated. It’s enlightening to hear from our team about the influential women who have left a mark on their lives.

Who is a woman in your life that has inspired you?

“My mom is a woman who has inspired me the most. I watched her persevere and tackle her personal goals all while taking care of two kids by herself. She taught me to never let anything get in the way of your purpose, and always make sure you are taking care of yourself.”

                                                                                          Shelbi J., Merchandising Assistant

Navigating the professional landscape as a young woman can be both exhilarating and daunting. In such a dynamic environment, the guidance and wisdom offered by those further along in their careers serve as invaluable beacons of insight and support. Advice from seasoned professionals not only offers practical strategies for overcoming obstacles but also instills confidence and reassurance in one’s abilities.

What advice would you give to young women entering the workforce?

“Embrace your ambitions and know that you can balance a thriving career with motherhood. Prioritize self-care, build a strong support network, and be flexible in managing your dual roles. Make the most of your time by being fully present in both your professional and personal life. Stay true to yourself and celebrate your successes along the way. With determination and resilience, you can do it all and thrive as a businesswoman and mom.”

Kristen R., Sr. Corporate Sales Manager

“I frequently remind myself of the saying, “a rising tide lifts all boats.” It underscores the importance of pausing to appreciate not only your own accomplishments but also the success of others. You never know who could end up being a mentor or a valuable friend to help you in the future. Progress and success are ultimately a win for everyone!”

                                                                                          Madeleine B., Brand Marketing Manager

International Women’s Day serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and successes of women worldwide. Success proves to be a deeply personal and multifaceted concept as it can be uniquely defined by everyone. Recognizing and respecting the diversity of perspectives on success not only fosters empathy and understanding but also empowers individuals to pursue paths that align with their authentic selves, ultimately leading to a meaningful and successful life.

               How would you define success?

“I like to think of success as a journey because it’s ongoing and successes might be large or small…today, success might be the largest spring collection launch ever with contributions from the entire team and over a year’s worth of work to bring to life. Tomorrow, success might be hearing my three-year-old go peepee in the potty on her own screaming YAY! And clapping for herself. There is success all around us and we must celebrate and find happiness in all the ways we create impact. If we feel good and we make those around us feel good, that’s success in my book.”

                                                                                          Laura O., Executive Director

As we celebrate this day, let’s continue to champion each other, support the next generations, and strive for a future where every woman can thrive in a healthy and resilient working environment.
