There are many types of leathers, each serving a different purpose. Some require a bit more maintenance than others, but all follow a set guideline of care to ensure a longer life. Click here to buy an Apple Leather Care kit complete with cleaner, conditioner, cleaning cloth and leather care guide.
Cleaning
To remove small scratches, use your clean fingertip to gently rub out the scratch. The natural oils in your skin will remove most small scratches. To remove dirt, grime or surface residues use a soft, damp (not wet) cloth. Simply & gently rub (not scrub) for removal. For a deeper clean we suggest using a cleaner, such as Apple Leather Cleaner, that will help preserve the natural lubricating oils instead of stripping them. The cleaner of your choice should not contain caustic chemicals, harmful abrasives or leave any greasy residue behind. Before applying anything to your leather item, be certain to test in a hidden area to ensure the cleaner is compatible with the leather. Once you've decided whether the leather care product is acceptable, gently apply with a soft, clean cloth & follow the instructions of your selected leather care product. Maintenance
To preserve your leather & keep it looking supple; use a wax-free leather conditioner, such as Apple Leather Conditioner. As always, test the conditioner in a hidden area, with a soft, clean cloth, to ensure the conditioner is compatible with the leather. Once you've decided whether the leather care product is acceptable, follow the instructions of your selected leather care product.
Storing Leather
Remember that leather is a natural material and should be stored in a breathable bag, not plastic, to prevent the growth of mildew and bacteria.
